This regional landmark has been a focal point since the city’s creation in 1797, lying at the intersection of ancient trading paths. The beautiful public park has grown to 6.5 acres for events and visitors to relax while they enjoy all that down town Asheville has to offer.

  • The “Transit Depot Fine Art Festival” will be held in Monterey CA on July 22-23, 2017. This outdoor festival, our fifth year, will feature accomplished artists from throughout the United States presenting their original work in all medium of two and three dimensional fine art, such as paintings in acrylic, oils and watercolors, photography, etchings, sculpture in clay, glass, metal, stone and wood. Each artist will be present to meet with the public and discuss their work. All work is available for purchase. In addition to fine art, fine crafts will also be presented. Festival attendees may find blown glass, turned wood, semi-precious jewelry, pottery, stained glass, and an array of high-quality crafts. The Festival will be located at the Transit Depot parking lot, at 451 Del Monte Avenue and Figueroa Street. Festival patrons will also be able to visit The Wharf Marketplace for fresh produce, breakfast and lunch and fine wines. Also plan on visiting the outdoor BBQ for lunch. Fisherman’s Wharf, which is nearby has many retail shops and fine restaurants. The hours of the event are from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.   • The 2017 Brockport Arts Festival is our 23rd community arts festival, on August 12 & 13. Hours are 10-5 both days, and admission is free. Off-site parking and shuttle service will be available. There will be around 170 vendors of all sorts, including the categories of ceramics and pottery, clothing, fiber/leather, jewelry, glass, painting, metal, photography, woodworking and specialty foods. There will be lots of entertainment and food, the Wine Garden and the Cruise-in. See the Events Schedule on the Festival page, brockportartsfestival.com, when we get nearer to the dates. There will be a special concert on Saturday evening on the grounds of the Historic Morgan-Manning House. We are planning lots of events around the Erie Canal to celebrate its 200th anniversary.   • The Shelby Township Art Fair Committee is seeking artists and vendors for its 34th annual juried show to be held on August 12 and 13. Now with four exhibitor categories, this event is held outdoors on the Shelby Township Municipal Grounds with booths located on grass, many with shade trees. All booths measure approximately 15’ x 15’ with some double booths available. NO resale products, services, home improvement companies, or distributors permitted. The friendly, helpful, organized staff, easy load-in & load-out, Friday night set-up, plenty of free daytime & overnight parking close to exhibit areas, overnight grounds security, and complimentary coffee and donuts each morning help to create a fun, friendly atmosphere. Advertising in local and regional publications, internet social media, television and radio announcements, e-mail blasts, flyers, banners and signs throughout the community, and more bring over 10,000 visitors to the event. Other features for visitors include free parking and shuttle bus, family friendly music and other entertainment, kid’s craft and activity area, great tasting food, and a sponsor tote bag giveaway.
